CWCSL held its lottery for its founding class Thursday, May 10th 2012 at 6pm. The results will be mailed to all applicants within 7 days. Please wait until after this time to call or email with questions.
Accepted applicants will have until May 30th to confirm their space by completing and submitting the enrollment packet that is mailed home with the acceptance letter. We will schedule a special tour of CWC Hollywood for accepted families who haven’t had an opportunity to see the model in action. After May 30th spaces will be released as they become available to applicants off the waitlist in the order determined at the lottery.
There are 96 spots for each class K-3. There were 399 applicants for Kindergarten, 139 for first grade, 79 for 2nd grade and 70 for 3rd grade. There was no lottery for 2nd and 3rd grade due to there being fewer applicants than the 96 available spots per grade. The applicants for second and third grade were therefore all accepted along with any of their siblings who had applied for other grades. We will continue to enroll applicants on a first come first serve basis for 2nd and 3rd grade until these classes are full and continue down the waitlist for kindergarten and 1st grade as space becomes available.
Please note that CWCSL will be sharing space on the campuses of Grant and Micheltorena Elementary Schools. It has not yet been determined the grade level configuration/student assignment for the sites. We’ll notify families as soon as it has. Also, the first day of school will be Wednesday, 9/5/12 and there will be a lot more information coming before the start of school for accepted families.
